Additional information

For patients aged 70 or older, ramelteon is preferred over diphenhydramine for sleep indications and cetirizine is preferred over diphenhydramine for itching or allergy indications. Please refer to System_RXMEDTI 161 for dosing guidance and exclusion criteria. Orders placed for patients meeting these criteria will be interchanged by pharmacy at order verification.
