SAMSCA is classified as formulary, restricted to cardiology, CV surgery, nephrology, or endocrinology.

Jynarque is non-formulary, not stocked. Drug is only distributed directly to the patient from a specialty pharmacy. If ordered for continuation of home use in the hospital, a nephrology consult is recommended. Inpatients should use their own Jynarque if at all possible, rather than Samsca tablets.
