Restricted to hematology/oncology physicians. We have approval to round dose down by up to 25% to avoid using an additional vial for a dose.

NPLATE is dosed weekly and is used to treat chronic thrombocytopenia only. If an inpatient is in need of a weekly maintenance dose, and the patient is going to be discharged in the next 24 hours, the dose should be deferred to the outpatient setting if possible. If necessary, a dose may be ordered in for a patient or borrowed from the physician's office. Initiation should be deferred to after discharge.
