NSAID -- maybe scheduled with meals.

Ketorolac automatic stop order for oral and injectable drug if regularly scheduled doses, maximum duration of therapy is 5 days. Notify MD for ketorolac discontinuation and selection of alternative drug.

Ketorolac dosing protocol


Pediatrics: Maximum dose of 15 mg IV/IM for inpatient orders.  Any ordered dose > 15 mg may be automatically adjusted down to 15 mg by the verifying pharmacist.

The maximum duration is 5 days or 20 doses in a 30 day period. Exceptions include physician requests.

 


 

SPRIX is non-formulary, not stocked. Contact the prescriber for an alternative analgesic. If necessary, a patient may use his/her own supply.
