Approved Profilnine prescribers:

cardiologists, cardiovasular surgeons, emergency department physicians, hematologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, vascular surgeons, and trauma surgeons.


Profilnine (or Profilnine with NovoSeven) will be therapeutically interchanged with FEIBA for emergent reversal of ORAL anticoagulants -- unless Profilnine is ordered as no substitution. See FEIBA monograph for more information and Emergent Reversal of Oral Anticoagulants.

 


Profilnine uses:

  1. Patients with Factor IX deficiency due to hemophilia B.
  2. Patient is on ECMO. ECMO related bleeding.
  3. Patient has received NovoSeven < 4 hours prior to prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) order.
  4. No substitution order.

If Profilnine meets all criteria for prescribed indication, reference dosing guidelines above.
