Inhaled Colistin Dosing

Parenteral and inhalation forms of colistin are restricted to the treatment of multi-drug resistant gram negative infections or where other drugs may not be used. Restricted to infectious disease, trauma, adult and pediatric critical care, and pulmonology. Pharmacy to review for appropriate indication, use, and dose.

Approved dosages for inhalation are: 50mg q 8 hrs, 75mg q 12 hrs, 150 mg q 12 hrs; pharmacists should recommend these dosage regimens to physicians.
