Victrelis medication guide


VICTRELIS is a new oral protease inhibitor for the treatment of hepatitis C. It must be scheduled every 8 hours and administered with food. Adverse reactions can occur, including hematological reactions. In addition, drug interactions can occur with the CYP-3A4 system. VICTRELIS is an automatic pharmacy consult to assure proper dosing and diet schedule, drug interaction screening, and adverse drug reaction monitoring.

VICTRELIS is classified as a formulary agent, restricted to the continuation of therapy. Patient may use home supply if available. Therapy initiation should be deferred to the outpatient setting where a financial management plan can be developed for the patient.
