Comments:

Non-ICU Setting: Discourage IV administration (Exception: Critical Care, Oncology, Neurology, Psychiatry, ICU, Palliative Care prescribers). If necessary, give IVPB in 100 ml D5W over 1 hour.

 

Haloperidol lactate may be given via subcutaneous injection (e.g. in Palliative Care patients).
