If needed, caffeine citrate 20 mg/mL 3 mL vials are stocked at W&C.


Caffeine 200 mg tablets were added to the formulary at the request of CV surgery for use in preventing caffeine withdrawal headaches in patients unable to consume their regular coffee. In most cases, the 200 mg will be given for 1 dose in the morning prior to surgery. Their use is restricted to CV surgery.
