Good afternoon.

 

Effective tomorrow, 12/12, Tralement will be the standard trace elements product in adult TPNs. It is FDA-approved and readily available! Program changes will be made in Abacus later today to reflect this. 

 

Dosing recommendations are as follows:

Trace Element Recommendations
  Multitrace-5 TRALEMENT*
T. bili ≤ 5 or expected transient rise unrelated to liver dysfunction 1 mL 1 mL
Live dysfunction AND T.bili > 5 for ≥ 3 days

0.5 mL

Or 10 mcg

0.5 mL
Liver dysfunction AND T.bili > 10

Remove Multitrace5.

Cr 10 mcg, Se 40 mcg, Zn 5mg

Remove Tralement.

Se 60 mcg, Zn 5 mg
