Subject: IMMEDIATE ACTION NEEDED - Protonix IV

Your immediate attention and action are needed...We have less than one week's supply of Protonix IV remaining. Please check your profiles now and either

  • switch to PO per P&T policy  --OR--
  • contact the prescriber and determine an alternate treatment

This applies to all populations, including peds. If there is a specific situation where no alternative agent can be used, you may go ahead and approve Protonix IV, but this should be a rare case. We will let everyone know when the supply returns to normal. DAVID
