Currently dexamethasone (DECADRON) 10 mg/mL 1 mL vial that contains preservatives is on BACKORDER. However, we are able to procure the 10 mg/mL 1 mL vials that are preservative-free.

We are using the PRESERVATIVE-FREE vials to refill Pyxis pockets for the product that contains preservatives. Techs, if you have a refill for dexamethasone 10 mg vials and the vial does NOT scan into the Pyxis, please scan the carousel label to access the Pyxis pocket for the refill.

HH Main currently has preservative-free vials stocked in both pockets (PF pocket and "contains preservatives" pocket) in the Main carousel.

It is permissible to dispense preservative-free vials to fulfill orders for the vials that contain preservatives...BUT it is NOT permissible to dispense vials that contain preservatives for preservative-free orders.
