SHRU
Today marks the soft-opening of a new unit on the 3rd floor. The Structural Heart Recovery Unit (SHRU) is located directly across the hall from CATH-TEE on the 3rd floor and from my understanding will serve as a temporary recovery area directly post cardiac procedures. SHRU will be open from 7am to 7pm with a 10 patient maximum capacity, and most patients will likely be in there approximately 4 hours before being transferred to a floor or ICU. The SHRU will initially be assigned to the "UB5 N2 UB12" team, and we will assess workload going forward.
The Return of the UB
Effective Monday, June 8th, our UB pharmacists will return to the UB offices at Main and it will be good to have you all back! Please continue to be safe, sanitize, and wear masks when appropriate. Attached is the updated Pharmacists Assignment documents with updated SHRU coverage (starting today), locations and phone #s (starting June 8th). Remember, if your are staffing from an accommodated location, please let other staff know how to contact you.
2020 has been a challenging to say the least, but I want to thank you all for your hard work, understanding, and kindness. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. My door is always open...unless it's not.
