All,

Beginning tomorrow morning (Friday, 5/1), hospital-wide temperature monitoring will move from the hospital entrances to departmental level.

Within the department there will be seven (7) areas available to you to have your temperature checked prior to beginning your shift. You will be receiving information from your manager/supervisor on where you should go and how the screening will be managed in your primary area.

Important to know:

- Everyone must have their temperature checked, regardless of shift, area, or day of the week.

- You will need to wear your "I'm Good" sticker of the day during your shift.

STICKER FONT COLORS FOR EACH DAY ARE:

o   Monday: ORANGE

o   Tuesday: TEAL

o   Wednesday: PINK

o   Thursday: BLUE

o   Friday: RED

o   Saturday: GREEN

o   Sunday: PURPLE

Temperature monitoring:

- Each area has an infrared thermometer to use. Hannah has back-up thermometers, batteries, and labels at her desk.

- The infrared thermometers often read LOWER than actual temperature. If you have a temperature of >99 degrees, each area will have oral thermometers available for use in obtaining a more accurate reading.

- Scanning behind the ear may yield better results than scanning the forehead.

- Hold the thermometer about one inch away from skin to get a reading.

Pharmacy areas:

  1. Central pharmacy- All central staff, UBs, clin specs, residents, clin techs
  2. W/C pharmacy- All pharmacy staff in the building
  3. PSP pharmacyBMT staff may go to OPM-BMT or to a pharmacy area
