Subject: Precedex Standard Fluid Change

We are now stocking premixed Precedex 400 mcg/100 mL in NS instead of D5W as our standard infusion. 
 
The carousel, Pyxis and Cerner have been updated. 
 
All current Precedex orders have been converted to NS. 
 
If necessary, you will still be able to order a PSP prepared Precedex 400 mcg/100 mL D5W infusion in Power Chart using the "Pharmacy Only Continuous IV Set" Power Plan. 
 
HHWC will continue to stock premixed Precedex in D5W (in addition to NS) for use in select pediatric patients.
