Subject: Cerner Upgrade: Monday, April 13 at 3PM

On Monday, April 13 at 3:00PM IT will be installing an upgrade to our Cerner environment.  This upgrade process will last until approximately6:30PM.  The upgrade timeline is shared at the end of this message for reference.

Important Notes for Pharmacy:

  1. Cerner will not experience a downtime for this upgrade.  Users will receive notifications during this process to log out and log back in.  This notification will show as a banner on your screen indicating the time you have until the system will automatically log you out.  Be sure you finish your actions (submit/sign/save) you are working on before being logged off to prevent loss of work.
  2. Interfaces to external systems will be down from 3:00PM to 3:30PM Monday  (4/13).  Therefore,
  3. Pyxis will need to be placed on Override during this time
  4. Pharmacy Keeper will not receive any orders during this time
  5. Pharmacy batches and Pharmacy Order Image will not be impacted with this upgrade.
  6. This upgrade includes minor fixes for Pharmacy applications, but there are no major changes that would impact workflow or application behavior.  Primarily, this upgrade addresses some minor bugs/errors within the applications, and includes a number of fixes for build tools on the backend of the system.  A couple of fixes to highlight:
  7. Fixed issue of cursor moving to 1st cell in a table in the middle of typing in another cell after modifying a progress note.
  8. Fix applied for lifetime cumulative dose calculations of chemotherapy agents

If you have any questions/concerns prior to this upgrade, please let me know.  If there are issues experienced during/after the upgrade, please feel free to reach out to myself/Travis/Katie or call the IT Help Desk who should be able to reach an Analyst on call to assist.
