03/02/2017 RC -- alvimopan (Entereg) protocol update

P and T committee has approved the automatic discontinuation of alvimopan by pharmacists after the first bowel movement, after a total of 15 doses, or at hospital discharge -- whichever comes first. For your alvimopan patients, work with nursing and review chart for information on patient having first bowel movement.
