Subject: Fwd: Revised IV Acyclovir Shortage Management

Pharmacists,

Good morning!  Please see attached revised version of the IV Acyclovir Shortage Management document that was recently approved at P&T.  A brief description of the changes include:
  • Adjustment to the patients that are approved to receive IV acyclovir (Until we run completely out of this medication)
  • Updates to the alternative medications when IV acyclovir is not indicated (using the above referenced criteria) or when we run completely out of IV acyclovir
  • Updates to the situations where oral alternative agents to IV acyclovir are recommended

Please take a look at these and let me or Justin know if you have any questions.

Thank you
