Heart Alert Kit contents - updated 9-20-19

Beginning today, all Heart Alert Kits will be refilled by a Central Pharmacy technician using the RXVerify system.

  • The pharmacist that responds to the Heart Alert will continue to pick up a "clean" Heart Alert Kit from Central Pharmacy.
  • When the Heart Alert is complete, the pharmacist will place the "clean" kit in Pyxis and will return the "dirty" kit to the surgery tray refill area in Central Pharmacy.
  • The A/9, I3 and M4 technicians will be responsible for refilling these kits on 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts respectively. Let Tiffany Ashley or Sherry Majors know if you have any questions about the RxVerify process.
  • The Heart Alert Kits will be added to the weekly Central Pharmacy audit rotation.
Several drugs were removed from this kit so please see the attachment for a list of the updated contents.

Please contact me or Gregg Knowles with any questions.
