Subject: IV Acyclovir Backorder

Good afternoon everyone,

IV acyclovir is currently on backorder status. This is expected to last at least until the end of October. Due to the limited quantity of IV acyclovir remaining, the attached restriction criteria will be going into effect as of today. Pharmacists are expected to determine whether or not IV acyclovir meets criteria prior to order verification and recommend alternatives, if appropriate. The attached document contains acceptable alternatives to IV acyclovir, as well as options if the supply if IV acyclovir is depleted. The AMT will be actively monitoring IV acyclovir use during this shortage to conserve its use and will provide any further updates to staff as necessary.

Please let myself or Jonathan Edwards know if you have any questions. SpectraLink: 50286
