Subject: Update to Vancomycin Dosing Consult Rule Effective Today

Since go-live we have had reports of Cerner occasionally duplicating Vancomycin Dosing Consult Daily orders when an order for vancomycin is placed directly into Med Manager by a pharmacist. This was occurring even when an active Dosing Consult already existed for the patient.

To fix this, we have implemented a change to the rule today which should stop these from being created from an order entered directly through Med Manager. An order placed through Powerchart, however, should still function as normal to create this daily consult order.

Please let me know if you notice any odd behavior with automatic Dosing Consult orders going forward.

Thank you.
