Subject: duplicate PRN reporting

Everyone is working hard trying to solve the issue of duplicate PRN meds. In addition to pharmacists correcting duplicates per P&T approved guidelines, IT and Med Staff Affairs are working to fix the problem at the source...the prescriber.

If you find duplicate PRNs that are generated because of something on a PowerPlan or because of a "physician favorite," please correct, then forward to Greg Jones (greg.jones@hhsys.org) and cc: Karol Jones (karol.jones@hhsys.org). We all know that it takes a LOT of time to correct these on the back end, so the more you report, the better chance we have of fixing this on the FRONT end. Please be sure to note the name of the PowerPlan or saved favorite, prescriber, the duplicates involved, and the patient/FIN involved. This will allow them to find issues more quickly.

Thanks!
