Subject: intervention documentation

Michael is continuing to sort out intervention documentation to make sure that he is capturing it all. Currently, the only ways to GUARANTEE that your interventions are counting are:

    * using the approved abbreviations in the comments field (e.g., ,NSS or ,PKS etc.) - see drop down list by clicking the pair of glasses above the comments field

    * entering an intervention Power Form

    * entering the intervention in Quantifi

    * VOIDING orders does NOT currently trigger an intervention and thus Michael cannot capture it. Enter those interventions via one of the above methods

    * Re-timing drugs (incl. antibiotics) is not being captured. Again, POS is an option. If it is easier, keep interventions on a scratch pad and enter them at the end of the day.

    * For Med Rec Team members, please talk with Joseph about the best way to document your interventions at the present time so that we do not lose them. We are working on a permanent solution for Med Rec, but will have to wait until a new report is written by Cerner.

If you have questions, please let me know. We have a team working on this, but in the meantime we want to capture all possible interventions. Decision Support has asked for all depts to resume sending workload data and ours appears down more that 50% since we are no longer using Order Image and not capturing Med Rec activities.
