Subject: Please leave all "724 Downtime Computers" up continuously

All "724 Downtime Computers" are intended to stay up and online continuously.  If they are not online, they are not receiving the continuous update information that you need when we experience a downtime situation.  The few computers that experienced problems on March 1 were computers that were not current for this reason.

At the end of the day, please log off the 724 downtime computers, but do not power them off or reboot them.  The only time they should be rebooted is when you receive a direct request from IT to do so.  For example the monthly Microsoft patch update that says "Restart your computer to finish installing important updates".

Anytime you reboot these computers, the encryption password should be entered to re-initiate the download of patient data that will be needed in the event of a downtime.
