Subject: CVSURG PeriOp Update

We are working with CV Surgery to improve workflow and optimize care for these patients. In addition to power plan changes, we are discussing how these surgery orders are implemented. Until everything is finalized, you will likely see a mix of our standard surgery process for activating orders and CRNPs initiating power plans before surgery. If you see orders from the CVSURG Cardiovascular Surgery PeriOp Phased power plan, and it doesn't appear to be the "day of surgery" - don't panic!

Here are a few tips:

    * The "On Call" frequency is unscheduled - that means that even if you verify the order with a start date of today, they will still be available to chart against on the day of surgery. There's no need to reschedule these order or call and have the CRNP reschedule these "on call" meds.

    * The standard IntraOp/PreOp medications on this power plan are available in surgery - so there's no need to print a label or send anything!

Please let me, Kate Adcock, or Sam Rustamov know if you have any questions.

Thank you!

Katie
