Subject: Clarification Re: HH Main C2Safe Changes and Reminders

Important Clarification: the info below (from previous email) regarding the new location of "RPH CODE ZERO BAG" is to be used for refilling midazolam or diazepam when NO PATIENT RECEIVED THE MEDICATION (i.e. if the med expires in the bag or if the med was drawn up at bedside but never administered to the patient).

When a patient receives part or all of the med, the pharmacist must leave, at a minimum, patient's name/location/date of birth. The tech will need this info to retrieve/document the new vial/syringe from the C2Safe.

NOTE: All partial vials should be wasted with another pharmacy employee as soon as the med is brought back from the Code 0.

RPH CODE ZERO BAG - has been added as a new location into the HH Main C2Safe.
In the past when midazolam or diazepam needed to be replaced in the pharmacist code bags, you had to sign out the med to "CENTRAL PHARMACY". Now you must sign out the med to "RPH CODE ZERO BAG".

RECONCILE function has been removed from most users permissions. Please do NOT file any paperwork that must be reconciled.....place in the tray under the C2Safe keyboard.

REMINDERS:

  • When refilling a kit, send the needed med(s) to the location that matches the kit name. (for example: When refilling an intubation kit send the needed meds to fill the kit to the location of "INTUBATION KIT").

The following kits have their own location:
INTUBATION KIT
HEMSI BOX
RPH CODE ZERO BAG
CRITICAL CARE TRANSP

  • When using the send function to issue an INTUBATION KIT,HEMSI BOX, or CRITICAL CARE TRANSP kit, send to the location of CENTRAL PHARMACY

  • All KEYS are to be sent to the location of CENTRAL PHARMACY.
