Subject: fentaNYL patches - all new orders to be loaded in Pyxis
Importance: High

New orders for fentaNYL patches are to pended/loaded into profiled Pyxis machines from this point forward. Do not load them into non-profiled Pyxis machines. This will mostly affect HH Main Pharmacy as Madison and HHWC pharmacies have already been doing this.

The patches will need to be pended into at least a 1 x 2 half-height cubie. A max of 3 and min of 1 should be sufficient if only one patient is on that strength patch.

This practice should minimize delays in the nurse obtaining the dose. Let me or your supervisor know if you have questions.
THANKS!
