Subject: CPOE Policy and associated algorithms
Attachment: 1Phone Order Algorithm                   CPOE                     1Written Order Algorithm-2

Attached is the CPOE policy approved by MEC (Medical Executive Committee). Please read this policy, then review the attached algorithms that will be used by nursing and pharmacy to process a non-emergent phone order and any written orders dropped off or faxed to a unit.

Nursing and pharmacy will be encouraged to follow these attached algorithms when possible - helping guide the physician to use Cerner CPOE. If these documents change, we will send out updated versions to you.

The policy and operational algorithms attached may prompt questions. Please contact me or your supervisor/manger to discuss as needed.

Thanks,
Jack
