Subject: Thrombin 5,000 unit vial/spray kit backorder & alternative

Thrombin 5,000 unit vials and spray kits have been on backorder for about a month and remaining supply will be used by the end of this week. We do not anticipate recovery before January 1, 2019.

The OR determined an alternative device and have ordered "Surgiflo" kits from logistics - which contain 2 mL of liquid thrombin. These kits are stocked in the respective OR areas. Should you receive Surgiflo product specific questions, please direct OR staff to contact their manager or Gina Holcombe (ext. 59768).
