Please note the following (from FormWeb) regarding the indication for use of Emend:

"For prevention (not treatment) of post-op nausea/vomiting, restricted to a one time dose of 40 mg PO, given before surgery."

We are seeing an increased use of this expensive drug (>$60 each) on many of our inpatient nursing units. Please do not verify Emend in any post-op situations that do not involve chemo!
