Subject: Chemotherapy Orders on Non-Oncology Floors

All,

Happy 4th of July! I just wanted to send out a quick reminder about how to handle chemotherapy orders written on floors other than 7E/7MST. If you receive a chemotherapy order on any other floors, please be sure to tag these as CHEMO and after you click save do not process please change the sender to *CHEMO. You can either choose to have these stay in the pharmacy que or transfer to the oncology que prior to saving and changing the sender to *CHEMO. By doing these steps, the order will show up in the oncology clinspec ques so we are alerted to work on it. Please feel free to contact us as well when you receive one of these orders by calling the office at 53277 or by paging group_oncologyrx@hhsys.org.

Just as another reminder, if these orders are received after 4 pm during weekdays or after 12 pm during weekends/holidays, the chemotherapy will be started the following day unless it qualifies as an emergent situation listed in the chemotherapy policy. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Have a great day!

Amanda
