Subject: NS 10 mL vial shortage

Pharmacy is out of NS 10 mL diluent vials, but we do have a healthy supply of sterile water 10 mL diluent vials.

Please let your nurses know to use sterile water for the antibiotic IV syringe doses, and for other dilutions as appropriate. I'm sure you recall sterile water is the preferred diluent for the antibiotics, but was unavailable for a period of time.

In addition, pharmacy may not be able to supply NS 10 mL diluent vials when requested on floor stock sheets until we receive more product.

Thanks,
Berkley
