Thursday, May 10 (tomorrow) mid-day we will need to begin the process of having Dilaudid injection
RANGE orders behave as variable dose orders with Pyxis. This behavior is the same as morphine injectable range orders today. Attached is previous education provided on this change associated with morphine and its impact on Pharmacy verification processes.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you.

Subject: Morphine INJECTION Range Orders: Upcoming Changes April 4th
Effective April 4th, we will be modifying the method in which morphine ranged orders are entered in iCare so that ONE ranged order is entered per route (ex. “2-8 mg IM/IV every 4 h PRN pain” will be entered as 2 separate ranged orders—one for IM, the other for IV). Attached is a quick reference document detailing this change and impact to Pharmacy on verification of these new orders.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
