Subject: cefepime 2 g & cefTRIAXone 2 g fluid changes for ADULT iCare orders at Main & HHWC

An iCare change was made yesterday to transition all new orders for cefTRIAXone (Rocephin) 2 g and cefepime (Maxipime) 2 g (for ADULTS at HH Main and HHWC) to utilize the 100 mL ADD-VANTAGE bags (Pyxis ES entry: "SOLN*NS or 1/2NS (ADD-VANTAGE) (100 mL) IV BAG 999815". Previously, both medications used the 50 mL ADD-VANTAGE bags.

**HH Main console techs and HHWC techs will need to PEND/LOAD 100 mL ADD-VANTAGE BAGS as needed for these two medications (i.e. if you receive an ORDERED MEDS NOT LOADED Pyxis bulletin).

This change did NOT affect NON-PROFILE PYXIS machines.

PEDIATRIC PATIENTS:
This change did NOT affect PEDIATRIC patients at HHWC as they will continue to use 50 mL ADD-VANTAGE bags.

MADISON HOSPITAL:
This change did NOT affect Madison Hospital's orders as they will continue to use Mini-Bag Plus bags for both doses.
