Subject: TOC Interventions in HCS - View only

Hi all,

I hope you're finding our TOC technicians' (and LPNs' and pharmacists') notes in HCS to be useful when questioning a continuation order from a home med sheet or performing medication reconciliation.

However, unless working as a TOC pharmacist, please use these interventions for viewing only, and do not document your OWN activities in HCS using the TOC Admit (RPH Fixed or RPH Reviewed) interventions.  The reason for this is that the "rules" that run in the HCS background cause any patient marked with these interventions to fall off our technicians' patient list.  (i.e. HCS "thinks" that these patients' histories have been fixed, reviewed, etc. by a TOC pharmacist, and therefore require no further follow-up or action from a technician - thus dropping them off their list.)  Instead, please continue to document any home med order clarifications (or other clinical interventions) in HCS or Quantifi as appropriate, utilizing non-TOC interventions.

Thank you all for your help.  Please let me know if I can answer any questions.
