Good news! We received a shipment of Sterile Water 10 mL diluent vials. You may resume filling floor stock orders for SW. Hopefully these will last upwards of 6 weeks or more.

In the likely event that we run out of NS 20 mL vials, we will send the sterile water vials as a substitute for NS diluent.

Be aware that we have received several vials of NS 20 mL that will be sent to nursing units as a substitute to NS 10 mL diluent vials.

Pharmacy has received several diluent vials of NS 20 mL. We will begin sending these to nursing units as a substitute for NS 10 mL diluent vials for as long we have them available.

Please let your nurses know about this impending change. Remind them that only 10 mL from the vial is necessary for the antibiotic pushes.

Also, do not reuse the vial for future doses, as it is a single use vial and is to be discarded after one use.

Thanks,
Berkley
