Hi Everyone,

Some of you guys might not be aware of this, but Dr. Tomalty (Interventional Radiologist) does not like his patients who are on Plavix to be on a PPI. If you see someone trying to order a PPI on a patient that he is on and that is receiving Plavix, please contact the person ordering the PPI and get it switched to Pepcid.

Obviously a GI bleed would need Protonix and you probably wouldn't want to give Plavix, but this is a Tomalty request so if they have issues then let them talk amongst themselves.

These patients tend to be a Stroke or SAH patient that he has placed a stent in.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks,
N
