Attachment: Plum Pump Drug Library Update September 2017

Pumps are communicating appropriately now. Please accept the new library when prompted.

To receive the new library :

  1. Keep pumps plugged in - the pump cannot pend or download the library unless it is plugged in AND the battery is charged

  2. Turn the pump on (if it is off)

  3. Turn the pump off

  4. If the pump prompts you, (screen will say "New Drug Library Available"), select "Yes" to accept the new library

  5. The pump will then download the new library: pump will be unavailable for about 15 minutes

  6. Once the process is complete, the pump will turn off automatically

  7. You can tell if the pump you are using has the correct library, by going to the "CCA Selection" screen (second screen that comes up after turning the pump on).

Updated library is dated 9/22/17 (see attached flyer) Old library is dated 9/27/16

If you have a pump that has not been updated, but does not prompt you to accept the new library:

  1. Plug the pump in and let the battery charge for 15 to 30 minutes before trying again. This usually addresses the problem

Please let me know if you run into any issues - we were able to address the communication issues because of your feedback!

Thanks,
Michele

I have received a number of reports about the pumps not prompting for the new library. I am currently trouble-shooting the issue. All of the pumps, except the test pump in my office, seem to be stuck in "Requested" status. Please hold off on trying to update the library on your pumps until I send out another request. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, thanks to everyone that has sent me feedback about this issue.

A new drug library for the Plum Pump has been pushed out this morning. To prevent confusion and potential medication errors, please accept the new library as soon as possible.

To receive the new library :

  1. Keep pumps plugged in - the pump cannot pend or download the library unless it is plugged in AND the battery is charged

  2. Turn the pump on (if it is off)

If you have a pump that has not been updated, but does not prompt you to accept the new library:

  1. Plug the pump in and let the battery charge for 15 to 30 minutes before trying again. This usually addresses the problem

  2. If that doesn't work, let it charge another 15 to 30 minutes

  3. If that doesn't work, it may need to go to Biomed

Please let me know if you have any questions
