5/28/26 ADULT Penicillin G update coming Tuesday, May 26th

We are going to be updating the Alaris Pump library on Tuesday, May 26th.   Part of this update includes a change to how Penicillin G will work for ADULT Patients ONLY.  If the order in Cerner is for 5 million units, the nursing staff will now be entering it into Alaris as 5 units.  (Previously they were doing 5,000 units).   This should greatly simplify things on the adult side.   I will be updating the order alert popup in MedManager with the new instructions, as well as updating the product note on the adult products.  This will NOT affect pediatric orders.   Let us know if you have any questions.  Thanks!
