4/28/26 Weekend Deployment Changes

April 28, 2026

Pharmacists,

As discussed in our "Fireside Chats," we will be changing our 1st shift weekend pharmacist assignments. We will be transitioning from shared PPMs and shared responsibilities to more delineated assignments, effective this SaturdayApril 25th

There are several reasons for this change-- to increase continuity of care, to reduce confusion surrounding phone calls, to evenly distribute workload, and to ensure that all pharmacists have well-rounded exposure to different patients, orders, and disease states. While most responsibilities will be delineated, the ED will continue to be shared and will be in all PPMs. UBs will continue to be responsible for ED patients in the morning and serve as a backup for the ED2 after 11:30.

For TigerConnect, we will continue to use the weekend team for now, as providers rarely initiate messages. This way each position will not have to sign in to multiple individual roles. The pharmacist responsible for the patient in question can respond to the message.
Central pharmacy will forward phone calls to the pharmacist assigned to that unit. We recommend calling your assigned units on Saturday morning to give them your phone number for the weekend (until 1500).
Each individual position will also complete new PKS consults for their units. See below for further details:
