3/5/25 PSP workflow updates

March 5, 2025

Hi Everyone

I have a couple updates that I wanted to share with you all.

We had a recent report that our continuous nafcillin and the premixed dobutamine had formed a precipitate when y-sited together. It looks like there is some conflicting information between Micromedix and Kings. When I looked into this Micromedex shows that these drugs are compatible however Kings clearly shows that they are not compatible. I will add this to our concentration book, but I wanted everyone to know in case anyone else calls and askes about the compatibility of these two medications in the future.
I am sure you have all seen the NS bags (IVINA Single Pack Containers) manufactured by Baxter in Shanghai China.
I am happy to report that the IVINA material are NOT made with natural rubber latex, PVC or DEHP.
I also received some overfill information from Baxter. I will print off a chart and put it in PSP.
250 mL Bag has 22.5 mL of overfill
500 mL nag has 31 mL of overfill
1000 mL bag has 40 mL of overfill
Please reach out if you have any questions
Thanks,
Krissy
