3/3/25 Re: .STOP Heparin Infusion Rule Beginning 2/25/25

March 3, 2025

Hello everyone,
We've received some reports that the .STOP Heparin Infusion task will sometimes not fire when a heparin drip is discontinued. We're working on resolving this issue, but until then, if you see a heparin drip discontinue that doesn't generate the .STOP Heparin Infusion task when verified, please add it manually through MedManager by searching for ".stop" and that should pull up the order.  You'll need to go under the "Ordered as" dropdown in the top right to select ".STOP Heparin Infusion" as pictured below:
I've updated the tip sheet with the exact wording of the order comment so that it can be copy/pasted into this order. I've attached the updated tip sheet to this email, and it can also be found on the heparin Formweb page and the UB Pharmacist Resources Formweb page. Please add these comments as instructions for nursing if you need to manually enter this order. We're hoping to have this fixed soon. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you encounter any patients where the task isn't firing.
Thanks,
