11/13/24 Potassium chloride

Potassium chloride premixes (20 mEq / 100 mL and 40 mEq / 100 mL) continue to be on backorder. We have exhausted our supply of the 20mEq bags. 
Potassium chloride concentrate (2 mEq / mL) vials and bags in all sizes are also currently unavailable. 

 

Changes have been made in Cerner to utilize the KCl 10 mEq / 50 mL premix for any 20 mEq or 40 mEq order. 
Please consider alternative salt forms of potassium for TPNs if possible.
