It's that time again, Flu Vaccine Season! Screening and administration for all in-patients and observation patients (6 months of age and older) will begin on September 23, 2024. Please see below education that will be sent to nursing:

"September 23, 2024 is Huntsville Hospital’s (Main/W&C/Madison) official start of the In-Patient/Observation Patient Influenza Vaccine season!  Nurses, please start screening your in-patients/observation patients (6 months of age and older) on that date.  Document the patient’s vaccine status in the EMR under Admission History.   If applicable, enter the HOSP Influenza PowerPlan in the EMR for the patient to receive the vaccine during their current hospitalization.  The influenza vaccine will be available in Pyxis."

Flu screenings will run through March 31, 2025. Please let me know if you have any questions.
