5/29/24 IV Acyclovir Shortage Management
May 29, 2024

Pharmacists,

IV Acyclovir is on back-order until July 2024. We currently have ~ 10 days supply remaining.

Please see the attached IV Acyclovir Shortage Management document.  A brief description of the changes include:

  • Adjustment to the patients that are approved to receive IV acyclovir (Until we run completely out of this medication)
  • Updates to the alternative medications when IV acyclovir is not indicated (using the above referenced criteria) or when we run completely out of IV acyclovir
  • Updates to the situations where oral alternative agents to IV acyclovir are recommended

Please take a look at these and let AMT know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Madeline
