3/20/24 Treprostinil (Remodulin) Home Supply Infusion Order Entry **NEW**
March 20, 2024

We’ve recently received several reports of inpatients continued on a home dose of treprostinil (Remodulin) infusion often via a Subcutaneous route.  As current treprostinil INFUSION order entry pathways have the ingredient/diluent volume ‘locked’ to not permit editing, we have previously provided instructions for this to be entered as a TNF (continuous) medication.  However, given its increase in frequency, it was decided it would be best to have a pathway to enter this specific home medication instead of using the TNF pathway.

A new CPOE IV Set has been built in via the **Pharmacy Only** Powerplan and allows for order entry of the infusion additive and diluent amounts which can vary by patient.  While the infusion order defaults a route of Subcutaneous Cath-Cont, it can be adjusted to alternative route (IV) if needed.  On the product selection screen in MedManger at verification, there is a treprostinil ___ mg INFUSION (Home Supply) IV Set that can be selected to fulfill this order (screenshots included below).

Please let us know if you encounter any issues with this new order entry process for this medication.  Thank you.
