Subject: ketamine status

Beginning immediately, please do not verify any new orders for ketamine in adult patients. We are down to a critically low supply and will soon be out. We have a small amount out with HEMSI and there is some for use with RSI. Pediatrics will continue with ketamine use in select patients until their supply is completely exhausted.

I have attached an article from SCCM that we used during recent shortages of sedatives that you may find helpful.

We will keep you apprised of any other changes that may need to occur and will certainly let you know if we are able to obtain more ketamine. DAVID
