Subject: HH Over-the-Counter Drug Policy


Please be aware that HH Pharmacists may interchange an OTC to a similar product that is in stock . (example: melatonin 5 mg is ordered....you may interchange it to either 3 mg or 2 x 3 mg).

Having this authority can save a great deal of time/effort....you do not have to ask the patient to bring in their own medication, you do not have to call the doctor to get the order changed, etc.

Just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of this authority.
