Subject: nalBUPHine (NUBAIN) injection shortage
 
nalBUPHine (NUBAIN) injection is on backorder and our current supply is very limited. 

Nubain orders have been converted to Stadol in the following power plans.

ANES CAPS Epidural Orders
ANES PCA Spinal Narcotic Orders
OB Postpartum Tubal Ligation
OB Misoprostol Induction for Fetal Demise
OB Labor and Delivery Admission Acute
 
Nubain is also on the PEDSURG Pectus PostOp Orders, but this power plan will not be changed. 
 
Other orders for Nubain injection may be automatically converted per P&T to Stadol injection during this shortage using the reverse of our normal Stadol to Nubain interchange.

  • 2 mg q3-6 hours

nalBUPHine (Nubain)

  • 10 mg q3-6 hours
