06/27/17 BG -- morphine 2 mg injection change

Subject: IMPORTANT: morphine 2 mg injection change

Due to a backorder of morphine 2 mg tubexes manufacturered by Hospira, we have procured Fresenius Kabi's brand of morphine 2 mg syringes.

Unfortunately, these syringes are packaged similarly to enoxaparin syringes so that they take up MUCH MORE space in Pyxis and the C2Safe than the tubex packaging. We will begin using these syringes at Main starting tonight and tomorrow. Please note the following:

    * Starting tomorrow, a Pyxis PICK/FILL report will print daily at 11:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. at the Main carousel. This will list Pyxis machines that need to be refilled. They must be refilled promptly (before the next report time).

    * The Pyxis pockets will only hold 40% of what they could hold with the tubex syringes. That means Pyxis pocket MAX and MIN levels MUST BE ADJUSTED by the console tech per the Pyxis PICK/FILL report. MAX = 40 change to 16 MAX = 10 change to 4 Change MIN levels to about 1/3 of the MAX.
